News from the CNPBC

Deadline Approaching for 2021 Registration Renewal

The registration renewal for 2021 deadline is fast approaching. CNPBC registrants who wish to maintain their professional status as practising or non-practising naturopathic physicians in BC must renew and pay their registration and certification fees on or before January 1, 2021.

You are encouraged to renew your registration as soon as possible through the Registrant Online Self-Services (ROSS) portal. If you are unable to submit your payment online using a credit card (Visa or Mastercard only), the College will accept a certified cheque or bank draft.

We take this opportunity to remind you that failure to renew your registration on or before January 1, 2021 will result in immediate cancellation of your licence and you will be required to apply for reinstatement. Failure to renew your certification(s) means that you must stop practising in the areas which you were certified and apply to reinstate the certification(s) and pay the required fees.

For those registrants with a Health Profession Corporation permit, you are reminded to renew your permit on or before December 31, 2020. This is now part of the online renewal process through the Registrant Online Self-Services (ROSS) portal. Failure to renew your Health Profession Corporation permit means that you cannot continue to offer or provide naturopathic services under your corporation name.

For those of you applying for non-practising registration with a fee exemption, please ensure your application and fee exemption forms are submitted as soon as possible so that your fee exemption can be processed.

Basic Life Support Training (BLS)

For registrants who have completed the online portion of your Basic Life Support training (BLS) and have had to defer the in-person portion of the BLS training due to the current covid-19 restrictions that are in effect, this will not affect your ability to renew your registration with the College. Registrants who have not yet completed the in-person portion of their BLS, are still expected to upload proof of completion for the online portion. This can be completed either during the renewal, or on the Home Page under the Qualifications tab of the Registrant Online Self-Services (ROSS) portal.

Steps to upload the online BLS training portion are as follows:

  1. Qualification Type: “CPR-HCP”
  2. Course Provider: the provider who facilitated the BLS training
  3. Issued Date: the date you completed the online portion of the BLS training.
  4. Upload supporting documentation: Proof of either payment, or online completion.

If you upload the above information, that will satisfy the registration requirements. If you have any questions, please contact the College at office@cnpbc.bc.ca.
