Public Notifications

The College has an obligation to notify the public of certain actions taken against registrants under section 39.3 of the Health Professions Act, RSBC 1996 c 183 (the ā€œActā€). Public notifications are made available concerning ongoing, interim, and previous disciplinary actions against registrants.

Actions under section 35:

The Inquiry Committee has the power to take interim action, including suspension, against registrants under section 35 of the Act. The Inquiry Committee may exercise its power under section 35 when the Committee determines that it must impose limits or conditions on the registrantā€™s practice prior to the conclusion of an investigation in order to protect the public. Actions taken under section 35(1) are subject to appeal to the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
